"BENJO BALCOBERO
SINGER/SONGWRITER
Benjo Balcobero is living his dream - sharing emotion and heartfelt passion
through his music and songs of a world united in peace. As an entertainer, singer and performer, Benjo brings his pop and R&B-style messages of personal love and inspiration to audiences across the nation with past performances for non-profit organizations, television appearances, contests, cultural festivals, shopping mall events, local concerts, and churches including appearances for Oahu Mayor Jeremy Harris and Former Hawaii Governor Benjamin Cayetano.
Benjo began his music career at a very young age when his mother began
serving as choir director of the local church. By the time he was 15, Benjo was
already offered two recording contracts from different singing contests but each
time forced to decline and concentrate on his schooling. Five years later,
Benjo had become a top finalist in 17 out of 20 singing contests he entered
including becoming Heald College’s Honolulu Heald Idol in 2003 and the winning Best New Talent Awards competition in 2004.
As a long-time entertainer for various non-profit organizations, Benjo
occasionally takes the stage to promote AIDS & HIV Awareness, Toys for Tots, the Leukemia Association of Hawaii Awareness, the Lupus Association of Hawaii and even participated in the Penny Drive Concert. Benjo is also a frequent
entertainment guest in cultural festivals such as the Local Hawaiian Nights Festival and the World Class Cultural Heritage Festival singing such originals as "One Nation, One Race” and “In Your Arms.”
Benjo is currently working for the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) along with its sister company, the Los Angeles Music Network (LAMN)—promoting monthly showcases for artist and musicians while performing in it himself. In addition, he has interned at Universal Music Group doing viral marketing for various artist in the online marketing department. Benjo also be got his certification in the music business from the Musicians Institute of Hollywood (MI) and is currently in the prestigious Hollywood Pop Academy.
